Thank you Mrs Wright.

Dear Mrs Wright,

My name is Valenisia and I am in room three at St Pius X school and I am year 5.

I like to read the books you give us because they are interesting and I learn new words and read books that I have never read before.

My favourite book is called ‘Twin Sisters,” because the twins both liked playing soccer than just reading book.

Yours sincerely,
Valenisia

Netbook Refection.

At the beginning of the year I felt so nervous and scared, because I didn’t know what I was going to use to do my work on. Suddenly I got a netbook that was new to me because I had never used a netbook before. I got my netbook and I opened it and turned it on. At the beginning I was unsure how to use my netbook and also I was slow at typing.

Now I feel  confident with doing my work on my netbook, because I think I have improved a lot. My netbook is a learning tool not a toy to play with, my netbook is helpful with my homework because I can finish off my work from class. Now I am sure about using my netbook, and I am a faster typer now.

If I was using a book my hands would hurt so badly, but now I have a netbook of my own which makes it easier to do my work faster. I am starting to be independent with using my netbook and also it is easier to publish things to my blog.

Sometimes it is distracting because the internet will go slow and sometimes you might be disconnected. Sometimes you also forget to charge your netbook and there might be warranty problems of your netbook which means you don’t have your netbook for a while.

Next year I am looking forward to being even more confident and more sure how to use my netbook. I am looking forward to learning more new stuff about my netbook, and also learning new things to help my levels rise. I hope to get a good report and move up in my writing especially.

Lego Retell.

This is a story about Lego and it is set in the old days, because the way the cars and the old house and wires looked. It happened in Switzerland and the characters were Oli, the father and the son Godfrey. It all began in 1932 and the company still exists today.

Oil lost his wife and so started to make toys with wood that he saved. He had four boys and they helped him, but the little one helped him a lot more than the others. The name Lego came from a truck, but he don’t know that lego actually means play well.

Oli worked in the workshop with his son Godfrey and sold toys. He was making toys until he gave them to the shops for some food and the children were happy with Oli. Oli passed away and his son looked after the workshop. His Lego was sold in the shops and it is very fun to play with.

My favorite part was when Oil said “only if there would be some kind of sign” and a truck drove past and stopped by the window and it said “LEGO”.

Kiwi fruit Description

A kiwi fruit is as green as the grass and feels soft although some feel hard. Kiwi fruit tastes juicy like a watermelon and yummy like a chocolate cake. They can be as soft as a pillow.

It is seen in the supermarket, shops, and it is found at homes and at schools. A kiwi fruit does nothing, it is just given to someone to eat or put in a fruit salad.

A kiwi is special because it can give our body heaps of energy and it is healthy for you.

We went on a bus to Sylvia Park to watch the Manaiakalani movies the schools had created at ten o’clock. We arrived at Sylvia Park at ten fifthteen.

When we got to the hoyts five school’s were already there, but one of the school’s came after us. After that we went inside the movies and sat in our chairs all the way at the top, and the chairs were comfortable.

My favourite movie was the Azonto from Tamaki College because they danced at a wedding and also they danced around Glen Innes. The dance I liked the best was when they danced in the library with one of the teachers.

Duffy and the best book ever

After morning tea we went to the hall to see a Duffy show but it is called “Duffy and the best book in the World”.

My favorite part from the Duffy show was when it was Emmy’s 7th birthday, because when she was looking for her dad her dad was still sleeping and she tried to wake him up but her dad wouldn’t wake up so she touched him on the back of his neck and he woke up screaming.

My wired Neighbours.

Beginning”
In the middle of the night I was peeking outside of my window and I saw my neighbors light’s on and I said to myself “ What is going on in that neighbourhood?”

Problem:
That I do not know what is going on in that neighbourhood.

Middle:
Last night my weird neighbours always had their light on every single night. So I woke up every single night peeking out my window just to see what is going on in that neighbourhood. After that I opened my window and i shouted out “ can you please turn down that loud music.” Next I went outside and went and knocked on their door and they opened the door and they said “ what” and i said “ can you go and turn off your music and go to sleep” and they respond back “ no we want to wake up.” later on I walked back and went to my bedroom and peeked out my window and I said to myself “ I am sure that their is a party or a disco going on in that neighbourhood. Later on in the night I went outside and peeked over their window and I saw a huge grey ball and I nearly got caught because someone came to the window to look outside their window and open the window so they can get fresh air because they were hot. In that meanwhile I sat outside on my neighbour’s steps and waited until they finished their disco or party, but I heard footsteps coming towards the door she was coming to open the door to come and go home and sleep because she was so tired. Later I went back home and went and sat on my bed and looked out my window just to see if they have turned off their lights because i couldn’t  sleep because they did not turn down their music down when I asked them to. Next I tried to sleep but couldn’t because their light was still on and their music was loud and couldn’t even sleep. It was nearly morning and I said to myself “ I wish I could get some sleep.” It was five o’clock and I covered my ears so I can get one hour sleep and I got one hour sleep and my mum came to wake me up and I woke up and I looked out of my window and their lights were still on and it was morning.

In the meanwhile I said “ there is a disco over in the neighbourhood “and I wish I was there.”

Kids for Kids Concert

On Monday 17th September Miss G and a student teacher named Miss Mcloughlin came along with Room three to the rehearsal at Telstraclear centre which was in Manukau. We went on a bus to Manukau. When we got to Telstraclear centre we got off the bus and stood in a straight line and waited for Miss G and Miss Mcloughlin so we could walk into the Telstraclear centre.

When we got in a man came a showed us where to go, so we followed him and he showed us to the stadium that we were going to perform at. After that we sat down and waited for the rehearsal to start, when we looked up at the stage there was a boy and a girl standing on the stage. When I saw the girl I remembered that she was from a T.V show that was called ‘What Now’. The boy and the girls announced their name, but I forgot their names. After that they said “If we can get all schools to come up, from smallest to biggest”. Next all of the schools were sitting in their orders and Suzanne Prentice said a few words. After she said what she needed to say we started off with the first song which was called ‘The Muppet Show Theme’. Miss G an Miss Mcloughlin watched us perform, that was a cool song.

When we are up to the song that was called ‘Somewhere out there’, that song was a beautiful and wonderful to sing. The song nearly brought me to tears, because all the schools sang it beautifully.

The rehearsal was quite a day for room three and Miss G and Miss Miss Mcloughlin. When we got on the bus I was sleeping because I was so tired from singing.
